The Car Was Fixed. I Wasn't.

Eight months ago, someone hit my car.
The crash lasted seconds.
The insurance calls eventually stopped.
The car got repaired.
Everyone moved on.
So why does my body still feel like the accident happened yesterday?
My neck still gets stiff.
My back starts hurting after sitting too long.
Sometimes I wake up sore for no obvious reason.
Long drives don't feel the same anymore.
And every once in a while I catch myself thinking:
“Shouldn't I be better by now?”
The Accident Ended. Recovery Didn't.
That's the part nobody really prepares you for.
You can look completely fine and still not feel like yourself.
Maybe you've learned which movements to avoid.
Maybe you've stopped exercising because you're afraid of making things worse.
Maybe you've simply gotten used to the discomfort.
But getting used to pain isn't the same as recovering.
There is a positive side: even if months have passed, it doesn't automatically mean you've missed your chance to improve.
At Primacare Physical Therapy, we work with people after auto accidents to address pain, stiffness, weakness and movement limitations—and help them work toward feeling comfortable and confident in their bodies again.
Because the goal isn't just to put the accident behind you.
It's to stop feeling like you're still carrying it.
